Elizabeth A. Sanger

May 6, 1934 — March 1, 2026

New Cumberland

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth A. Sanger, who left this world on March 1, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on May 6, 1934, to the late Margaret (Hinkle) and Clair Amsbaugh, Elizabeth touched the lives of many through her unwavering dedication to her family and her spirited personality.

A proud and devoted homemaker, Elizabeth found joy in nurturing her family. She was formally a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Goldsboro Fire Company. A woman of many passions, Elizabeth found joy in diamond art and puzzles, and her love for reading, especially Amish literature, brought her countless hours of happiness. She was delighted in crossword puzzles and treasured moments spent shopping at her favorite places, including Hobby Lobby. Above all, she was a sociable individual who loved to talk, connecting with those around her and brightening their days with her warmth and kindness.

Elizabeth is survived by her cherished children, Barbara (William) Leonard, Stanley Fisher Jr., Edward Fisher, and Ryan (Debra) Fisher. She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Henrietta Slaseman of York Haven and Patricia Harbold also of York Haven. Her legacy continues through her 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life.

Along with her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband’s Franklin G. Sanger and Stanley Fisher; her children, Richard (Crystal) Fisher and Barry (Wanda) Amsbaugh, and her siblings; Gary Amsbaugh, Emma Mae (Haas) Cornman, Robert Franklin Haas Jr., Nornman William Haas Sr., Clair Roland Amsbaugh Jr., John Eugene Amsbaugh Sr., George Ivan Amsbaugh Sr., Richard Eugene Amsbaugh, Kathryn Loraine (Amsbaugh) Millard, twin siblings, and grandson Zachary Ryan Fisher.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, at 3pm in the Chapel of Parthemore Funeral Home, 1303 Bridge Street New Cumberland PA, 17070, followed by a memorial service starting at 4pm. She will be buried with her husband Franklin at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA privately at a later date. In this time of grief, we encourage all who knew Elizabeth to come together in remembrance of the love she freely shared and the laughter she gifted to all. May her memory be a blessing, forever cherished in our hearts.

Memorial contributions are to be made to the American Diabetes Association.
