Erin Marie “Therese” Mansell-Snyder passed away unexpectedly at the age of 21 on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Born on January 26, 2004, in Stupino, Russia, she was adopted by her parents, William and Alice Mansell.
Primarily homeschooled and a 2022 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, she was pursuing a degree in Psychology from HACC. Dedicated to helping others, she was a certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), a skilled phlebotomist and teacher. She worked at both HACC and Adams Regional as part of their EMS teams and also spent time at UPMC Harrisburg as a patient care technician (PCT). One of her greatest joys was teaching high school students EMT skills. She loved her students, and they loved her. They were her passion, and she left a lasting impact on everyone she taught.
Growing up, she was a competitive figure skater and then discovered a new love in horseback riding. She loved spending time outdoors—going on long walks, hiking, and exploring nature. If she wanted to do things, she would just do them. At home, she loved her pets—her birds, fish, her family dog Sophie, and especially her cats—and often joked about her aspirations of becoming a “crazy cat lady.”
Erin was a very passionate person and a tireless worker. She had a very bright intellect, always open to engage socially with people and debate on any number of topics. She believed in God, had a deeply sensitive heart and was a very loyal friend. She was especially compassionate to individuals with special needs or those who had a troubled life, willing to open her heart and home to those in need.
She was loved deeply and shared that love freely—with friends, family, and especially her beloved nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, who each held a special place in her heart. A bright and caring young woman, she is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Erin is her husband, Alexander Snyder of Duncannon; parents, William and Alice (Bialek) Mansell of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Elizabeth (Mansell) Gearhart and husband, Jonathan, of Mechanicsburg; brother, Stephen Mansell and wife, Maria, of York; nieces and nephews, Austin, Joey, Juliet, Benny and Aurora; and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Margaret Mansell, and Walter and Eileen Bialek.
Public viewings will take place on Thursday, October 23, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland, from 12-2PM and 5-7PM. A Requiem Mass will be held at 11AM, Friday, October 24, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (FSSP), Harrisburg.
