Frances Dorman

Frances Dorman, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away after a short illness on July 11, 2023 at the age of 79. She spent her last days at home, surrounded by her children. 

She was born March 8, 1944 in Fayetteville, NC to Frank and Carmen Caruso. She was one of five daughters.

Frances married George C. Rogers on August 16, 1963, and they had a wonderful marriage until George’s death in 1987. They had four children together - William C. of Harrisburg, Karen T., of Harrisburg, David L., of Chester, New York, and Ruth L., of Lemoyne. In addition to her loving children, Frances leaves behind two daughters-in-law - Lori, of Harrisburg, and Cathy, of Chester, New York, along with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. 

An adventurer at heart, she loved the Western United States, and read and watched many Westerns. At the age of 66, she loaded up her Oldsmobile and set out on her own to explore many National and State parks in the West. That trip was one of the highlights of her life.

She also loved quilting, and hand-stitched more than 100 quilts for family and friends over the span of more than 40 years. The work that went into each heirloom is absolutely staggering.

A woman of faith, which she instilled in all her children, Frances most recently attended LifePoint Church, of Harrisburg. 

A private Memorial Service will be held for Frances in Burnsville, NC to be attended by immediate family at a later date.
