Genevieve Irene Pettinato
morning hours of April 12, 2024 at Celebration Villa, Dillsburg, PA.
She was born in Bradford, PA on January 25,1925. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary
Shembeda. She graduated from St. Bernard’s school and attended and graduated from beauty
school in Buffalo, NY.
On June 19,1948 she married Joseph Anthony Pettinato who proceeded her in death.
She loved trying new cookies recipes and different desserts, was an avid card player and loved
going to the casino.
She is survived by her five children: Michael (Kathleen) Pettinato of Maricopa, AZ, Mary (Dale)
Pettinato Cook of Etters, PA, Stephen (Deborah) Pettinato of Bradford, PA, Mark (Karen Haven)
Pettinato of Bradford, PA and Cynthia (Victor) Pettinato Vena of St. Petersburg, FL, seven
grandchildren: Aaron (Tiffany) Pettinato, Meaghan (Cain ‘O Donnabhain) Pettinato, William
(Staci) Howard, Angella (Norm Fromm) Howard, Nathaniel (Elissa) Pettinato, Sarah (David)
Pettinato Peterson, Joseph (Rachael) Pettinato, fourteen great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister and four
brothers.
At the family’s request there will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00am, Friday, May 31, 2024, followed by Mass at St. Francis of Assisi of Bradford, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the PA Association for
the Blind, https://www.pablind.org/
