Genevieve R. "Gennie" Schiffer

Genevieve R. “Gennie” Schiffer, 78, of Lewisberry died Saturday, July 13th at The Bridges at Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg.

She was a retired accountant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Arimatheans, and women’s prayer group. Previously, she was a member of Holy Infant Parish, Manchester where she taught Sunday School.

She was born February 28, 1946 in Connellsville to the late Jacob and Genevieve (Smith) Staszel.

She is survived by her husband, William J. Schiffer; son, William James Schiffer, Jr. (Denise) of Carlisle; siblings, Paul Staszel of Connellsville, Bernadette Rauco of Chadds Ford, Ruth Heefner of Harrisburg, Donald Staszel of Scottdale, Ron Staszel of Eighty Four, and Thomas Staszel of Connellsville; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn, William, III, Nicholas, Luke, and Allison.

Viewing will be from 9:30 – 10:30am at Parthemore Funeral Home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11am Wednesday, July 17th at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Committal will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
