George Paul Schuller Jr., 85, of Lemoyne, PA, died Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at his home.

He was scheduled to retire February 2024 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Born on March 8, 1938, in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of George P., Sr. and Anna (Pollock) Schuller. George was preceded in death by a grandson, Wolfgang Schuller.

In 1955, George graduated from Cortland High School in Cortland, OH. From 1956 to 1960, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a RADAR technician, stationed in Morocco. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, he was hired by the FAA. For 63 years, he worked as a RADAR technician, first at Cleveland Airport, then at Capital City Airport and HIA.

As a young boy, George was fascinated by all things electrical and electronic. He began tinkering and repairing DC and AC motors and generators, then radios and televisions. His love of radios continued through his life. In his spare time, he listened to music and radio programs. He also loved to explore his German and Croatian heritages. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Club, the Dutch Club and various VFWs and American Legions in the area.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Linda K. (Baker) Schuller; daughters and sons, Charmaine N. Hileman (Daniel) of Quarryville, PA, Erich K. Schuller (Diedre) of New Castle, DE, Johann F. Schuller of Camp Hill, PA, Lurlei K. Watson (Scott) of New Cumberland, PA, Helmut A. Schuller of Lemoyne, PA, Klaus E. Schuller (Karen) of Camp Hill, PA, Hanns R. Schuller of Lemoyne, PA, Helga I. Schuller (Philip) of Camp Hill, PA, Ernst J. Schuller (Jessica) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Gretchen S. Klaiber (Matthew) of Owings Mills, MD, Horst K. Schuller (Eileen) of Carlisle, PA; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Carl Schuller of Cortland, OH, and Joseph Schuller of East Lansing, MI.

Graveside services with military honors will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
