Mechanicsburg

George Luis Vazquez, 75, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1949, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to the late Luis Vazquez and Antonia LaBoy. A beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, George leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a deep love for his family.

George was known for his exceptional talent as the business owner of 1st Class Building and Remodeling, where he built not just structures but lasting relationships. Self-employed and dedicated, he made significant contributions to his community, embodying the spirit of hard work and perseverance, making commitments, not promises.

A man of faith, George was deeply committed to Good News Free Methodist Church, where he not only contributed his construction expertise to build the church building itself, but also generously volunteered his time on mission trips, assisting those in need, and supporting the youth group. He had a special gift for connecting with young people, always ready to offer guidance and encouragement.

George's greatest joy came from making others happy; he had an incredible ability to brighten anyone's day with his infectious laughter and warm smile. Friends and family often sought his counsel, knowing they could count on him for the best advice delivered with wisdom and compassion. His quick wit, great sense of humor, and considerate nature always had the power to make those around him smile.

He was deeply devoted to his wife, Charlotte, his partner in life for 35 years. George never missed an opportunity to tell everyone that Charlotte was the most beautiful woman in the world, and his love for her was evident in the way he cared for her daily, always putting her needs first and treating her like a queen. His children adored him, and he always made it a point to support their activities and passions no matter what, helping them grow along the way.

In his leisure time, George pursued his passions with enthusiasm. He was a devoted collector of classic cars, especially his beloved MGB GT, which he proudly showcased at local car shows. His artistic side shone through his passion for drawing and collecting art prints, allowing him to express his creativity in beautiful ways.

George had a fondness for classic westerns and crime shows, often found watching "CSI" or his favorite movie, “The Man from Snowy River”. His taste in music was just as eclectic, enjoying oldies and country tunes while always keeping up with the news on the radio. A talented cook, George delighted his family with his famous Spanish rice, where every meal was accompanied by warmth and love.

George is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte (Hensel) Vazquez, his daughters, Deanna (Austin) Davis and Lauren (Bryan) Vazquez, and his sons, Richard (Jessica) Vazquez and Kyle (Liz) Vazquez, as well as his cherished grandchildren Mia, Blaze, Eva, Storm, Adela, Sky, and Frost, who brought him boundless joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Ruben, José, and Gloria, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carmen Westenberger, and brother, Luis Jr.

George’s warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone he encountered. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed. As George often said, “Never let anyone steal your joy.”
