George B. "Bud" Wisman, 88, of Enola, PA, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg. Born in Enola on September 19, 1937, he was the son of the late A. George and D. Blanche (Morrison) Wisman.
Bud attended Susquehanna High School, where he distinguished himself as an athlete and enjoyed playing sports throughout his younger years. He also proudly served with the Marine Corps Reserves. A hardworking man through and through, Bud spent his entire career in trucking. He began driving for Zimmerman’s Peanuts, where he worked as a delivery driver for nearly fifteen years. He later joined Roadway Express, starting when the company was based in Camp Hill and remaining with them until his retirement after their move to Carlisle.
Bud was a longtime member of Teamsters Local 776 in Camp Hill for 33 years, a charter member of the Enola Sportsman’s Club, and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, of Harrisburg. Outside of work, he loved hunting and fishing and especially cherished time spent at the family cabin in Juniata. In fact, he was still able to make it there during this past deer season. He also looked forward to yearly family vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sea Isle City, NJ where he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. No matter the beach, he always enjoyed boating and fishing at the shore.
Bud had many interests that reflected both his creativity and his care for others. He enjoyed building personalized birdhouses for his grandchildren, often designing them around their favorite books. In his younger days, he also enjoyed drag racing at the US 30 Dragway in York. At home, he took great pride in his lawn, which he kept in meticulous condition, and he enjoyed growing plants and tending to his greenhouse and garden.
He could be a little stubborn at times, but it was always paired with a deeply caring heart. Bud had a gift for conversation, often turning a quick trip to Lowe’s into a much longer outing. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, and he was well known for saying, “Let me make you a deal…” He was a lifelong Yankees and Cowboys fan, and if you did not drive a Ford, you could expect to hear about it. But none of his passions meant more to him than his family. Though he drove truck daily, he always made time for his children and grandchildren, faithfully showing up for their sporting events and activities and supporting them every step of the way. His loving and genuine way will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving Bud are his two sons, Todd Wisman and Jeffrey Wisman (Tracey); a daughter, Jamie Armstrong (Earl); six grandchildren, Sean Wisman (Lindsey), Marissa Wisman, Brianna Wisman, Jarrett Wisman, Logan Daugherty, and Emma Daugherty; four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Cameron, Griffin, and Rowen; and a sister, Joanne Snelbaker Kocur. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Judith A. (Beavers) Wisman; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Wisman.
A public visitation will be held from 10-11AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A memorial service will begin at 11AM in the funeral home followed by inurnment in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
