Gerald Joseph Yancisin

Gerald Joseph Yancisin, 83, of Camp Hill passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.

Jerry was born on May 6, 1943 in Philipsburg, PA to the late Joseph Albert and Margaret Agnes (Marince) Yancisin. He was a graduate of Portage Area High School, in Portage, PA. Jerry received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1965 and his Master’s of Business Administration from Penn State University in 1974. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he spent his entire career at the Navy Fleet Material Support Office, Mechanicsburg, PA, retiring as a Project Manager after 35 years. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, and the local Knights of Columbus. He became a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity while attending IUP and remained lifelong friends with his brothers.

Jerry married his “best pardner”, Christine, in 1969. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, and much laughter. Jerry had a special way of connecting with everyone he met, young and old. Always curious and a thoughtful listener, he greeted everyone with a smile and kind words. He had a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of genuine warmth for all he met. Jerry will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and the laughter he brought with him.

Jerry enjoyed sports of all kinds both as a participant in hobbies such as golf and running, and as an active observer. He was his children’s and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader. Jerry coached youth baseball, softball and soccer and mentored hundreds of young athletes in both sports and life over the years. An avid fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams, he could always be found rooting for someone in black and gold.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Christine Maria (Ruth) Yancisin; son, Matthew G. Yancisin (Susanne) of Towson, MD; daughter, Molly C. Myers (Thomas) of Marietta, GA; five grandchildren, Caroline, Logan, Emily, Isabelle, and Kyle; three sisters, Marlene Letso of Indiana, PA, Louise Stefanko of Portage, PA, and Beverly Hornyak of Johnstown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
