Glenn W. Bushey of Camp Hill, PA, died peacefully on December 26, 2025. He had happily celebrated his 100th birthday in August with family and friends.

He was born in Harrisburg on August 7, 1925, the son of Walter and Elsie (Boesch) Bushey. For 50 years he was the beloved husband of Marian (Miller) Bushey who preceded him in death. He is survived by his nephews Glenn W. Bushey and Bransby W. Bushey, Jr. as well as great nieces Allison Bushey Bashore and Alexa Bushey, a great nephew Bransby W. Bushey III and great great nephews Bransby W Bushey IV, and Simon Bashore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bransby W. Bushey of Audubon, PA.

Glenn graduated from Lemoyne High School in 1943 and joined the Army, serving in the 86th Infantry Division in WWII. He earned the Expert Infantry Badge, the Combat Infantry Badge, a Purple Heart, and a Bronze Star during his service from 1943-1946. Glenn then went to Gettysburg College and joined ROTC, which resulted in his serving in Korea in the 40th Infantry Division, this time as an officer. He once again earned the Combat Infantry Badge, this time with Star.

Glenn then returned to Gettysburg, graduating with a degree in mathematics and education. He was employed in Smithsburg, MD, as a math teacher from 1949-1951, then returned to his roots when he was hired by the West Shore School District. Glenn was a math teacher and then an assistant principal at Lemoyne until he retired in 1982. He especially enjoyed his extra- curricular duties as a Hunting Safety Instructor. Back then, the students could bring their rifles to school and go to a field by Negley Park to practice safe shooting; there were never any issues.

Glenn was also active in Saint Timothy Lutheran Church where he was an adult Sunday School teacher and served on the selection committee for the new pastor. He was also a member of Eureka-West Shore Masonic Lodge #302, the Harrisburg Consistory AASR, Harrisburg Forest #43 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Zembo Shrine. Glenn’s other hobbies included woodworking, hunting, gardening, and taking long walks with his dog Amy. The two of them were a familiar sight in his neighborhood for many years.

Services will be held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 3, with visitation 10-11 and services at 11.
