Gloria M. Katusha

February 15, 1928 — November 18, 2023

New Cumberland, PA

Gloria Mary Katusha, 95, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 18, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Augustus N. and Dora (Tuckey) Foesel, born on February 15, 1928 in Steelton.

Gloria was a 1947 graduate of Highspire High School and would go on to become employed with the PA Department of State. Working primarily in the State Capitol North Office Building, Harrisburg, she would retire after nearly 30 years of service in 1991.

An outgoing and bubbly personality, Gloria thoroughly enjoyed being with her friends, family and co-workers. She was a longtime member of the New Cumberland American Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Post 143), as well as a life member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary (Post 7415). She thoroughly enjoyed a cold beer after a long day, and the beach was her favorite getaway destination; she was also a proud 60+ year breast cancer survivor. Gloria had two close friends, Dottie Cook (who preceded her in death) and her longtime hairdresser, Ly Tran. Later in life, being with her grandchildren (and their blossoming families) was her ultimate source of happiness. She will be missed.

Surviving Gloria is her daughter, Patricia Sackman (John) of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Toby Sackman (Jacqueline) of Marysville and Nikki McKeever (Bryon) of Mechanicsburg; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew, Shayne, Brenden, Kayleigh, Madison, Bryleigh; two great-great grandchildren, Aubree and Grayson; a sister, Linda Stoner of Linglestown; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William G. “Bill” Katusha; and a brother, Daniel Coder.

A funeral service will begin at 11AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A public viewing will be held from 10AM until services begin in the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Gloria’s name to either Gentiva Hospice, 205 Grandview Avenue, Suite 304, Camp Hill, PA 17011, or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
