Grover A. Herr

Grover A. Herr, 82, of Fairview Twp. died Thursday, February 19, 2026 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

A graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, and Elizabethtown College, Grover was a retired High School Math Teacher at Central Dauphin East High School. Upon retiring he had the opportunity to practice his passion for trains as a Conductor on the Strasburg Railroad. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Church of New Cumberland (Trinity on Bridge) where he held several positions including Chair of the Administrative Board. He was a past Scout Master of Cub Scout Troup 198 and Advisor to the Sportsman Club at Central Dauphin East High School. Grover taught Hunter Safety at West Shore Sportsmen’s Association in Lewisberry for over fifty years.

He was born November 30, 1943 in Harrisburg to the late Albert A. and Trula H. (Koch) Herr. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel “Danny” A. Herr.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Strauss) Herr; son, Alan E. Herr and his wife Amy of Westlake, OH; and granddaughters, Elizabeth N. and Danielle A. Herr.

Visitation will be from 9:45am until a Celebration of Life Service at 11am Wednesday, February, 25th at Trinity on Bridge. Burial will be in Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Newberry Twp.
