Harvey H. Hockley

Harvey H. Hockley, 86, of Etters died Sunday, March 22, 2026 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

He was born March 31, 1939 in Harrisburg to the late Herbert and Geraldine (Cook) Hockley. He was preceded in death by his son, Lynn W. Tiedgen (Lori); and brothers, Hearlden and Steven Hockley.

He was a 1957 graduate of Central Dauphin High School, an Army Veteran who served in Korea and had a 30 year career as a Manager for IBM. Harvey was an avid golfer and a member for many years at Range End Golf Course in Dillsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Freet) Hockley; children, Cynthia C. Distenfeld (Eric) of Harrisburg, Herbert A. Hockley (Lynne) of Elizabethtown, Gretchen S. Al-Alawneh (Jamil) of Tulsa, OK, and Christopher T. Hockley (Julie) of Tucson, AZ; Kendall Barnes of Alta, IA; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Maynard Hockley (Sue) of Mechanicsburg; and sister, Cheri Sellers of Harrisburg.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, March 26th at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
