Henrietta E. (Smith) Todd, 79, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026. She was born on April 30, 1947, in Cologne, Germany, to the late Gertrud (Jansen) Smith and Henry R. Smith, Sr.
Better known as “Yetty,” she lived a life that was not always easy, but it was real and impossible to ignore. A graduate of Cedar Cliff HS (’66) and a Vietnam War veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps, she was independent, never afraid to speak her mind, and she always stood her ground.
She spent years waitressing at Casa Rillo Restaurant in Camp Hill before later working at Restaurant on Chocolate in Hershey. She eventually retired from GS4 Security, Harrisburg. She took pride in all she did, especially keeping her home neat and clean.
At the center of Yetty’s life were her three children. The oldest of seven siblings, she took on responsibility early and never backed down. But beneath her fiery temperament lay someone deeply caring and generous.
Yetty loved road trips, fast cars, dancing, long walks, fine dining, holidays, and especially the beach. She enjoyed classic black-and-white films, jewelry, purses, shoes, plants, animals, and old photographs filled with memories.
A devoted Catholic and member of St. Theresa Parish, she found her faith a steady source of comfort throughout her life. Though she spent much of her life surviving on her own, she truly longed for love and companionship. Through every chapter, Yetty remained strong-willed, determined, resilient, and unforgettable.
Surviving Yetty are her children, Michael R. Moxon (Janine) of Mechanicsburg, Melinda Adams of Annapolis, MD, and Steven R. Todd (Brandi) of Okeechobee, FL; grandsons, Dakota and Cameron; siblings, Henry "Herb" Smith Jr., Christopher "Nick" Smith (Nicole), Theresa McNelly (Chuck), and Clement "Clem" Smith; an aunt and best friend, Helga Vucenic; and favorite confidant, her sister-in-law Donna Smith, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven and Michael Smith Sr.
A viewing will take place from 10:30-11:30 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland, followed by a 12 PM mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Reception will follow at the West Shore Elks Lodge in Camp Hill.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Henrietta’s name to a veteran’s support program of your choice.
