Jack G. Barmore, 61, of Goldsboro, passed on to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class and was a veteran of the Persian Gulf and Viet Nam Wars. He was a former youth baseball coach and umpire and had played in military installation baseball leagues in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Barmore favorite pastime was entertaining (and being entertained by) his grandchildren and he enjoyed fishing and being on the water.
Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Arie M. (Jackson) Barmore.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Jo Anne (Ervin) Barmore; a son and his wife, Jason B. and Jennifer L. Barmore of Etters; a daughter and her husband, Stephanie D. and Brian E. Hannon of Etters and Brians sister, Carla R. Hannon of York; two brothers, Randy Barmore of Lamar, AR, and Joe Barmore of Irving, TX; six grandchildren; Chelsea, Emily, Lindsey, Jack, Rylee and Marissa; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Ann Snelgrove of Minden, LA; two brothers-in-law, Robert Ervin of Minden, LA, and Bill Ervin of Roseville, CA, and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Paul W. Baughman officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
