James L. Cassell

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James L. Cassell, who departed this life on March 10, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on May 31, 1964, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Jim, as he was affectionately known, touched the lives of many with his warmth and kindness.

A proud graduate of Trinity High School, Jim pursued an associate’s degree and spent most of his professional life in the food service industry as a devoted server, where he brought joy to many with his warm spirit and genuine smile. His love for animals mirrored his compassionate nature. He would even pick animals up off the street and care for them. 

Jim loved going to the gym, especially Planet Fitness, where he worked hard to stay healthy and active. He also loved to travel. Jim especially enjoyed the energy of New York City and the excitement of Hollywood, California, where he once lived. He had an adventurous spirit and liked exploring new places and meeting new friends along the way.

His relationships with his family and friends were the cornerstone of his life. He shared an unbreakable bond with his mother, Kitty Cassell, and a close-knit circle of friends, including Usher, T.J., and his beloved cousin, Denise. Their companionship brought so much joy to his life, reminding us all about the importance of connection and love. In recent years, Jim faced several health problems. Even with these challenges, he stayed strong and kept a positive spirit, showing how much he loved and cared about his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his beloved mother, Kitty Cassell, who cherished him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his beloved husband, Alberto Baez.

As we remember Jim, let us carry forward his spirit of love and compassion, ensuring that his legacy continues to shine brightly in our hearts.
