James "Jim" Curtis Medellin

July 4, 1965 — February 15, 2021

James “Jim” Curtis Medellin, 55, of Dover, lost his battle to COVID-19 on February 15, 2021 at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Jim was born on July 4, 1965 to Charlene Keeney and the late Ramiro Medellin. He was a 1983 graduate of Susquenita High School and the Cumberland Perry Vo-Tech School.

Jim loved spending time with his family and he was especially excited about his grandchildren, Maren and Maxten. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, dirt track racing, NASCAR, and almost anything with the outdoors. He volunteered and helped with his kids’ sporting events at Red Land. Jim was always willing to help in any way he could, including working as a spotter during football games and coaching/assistant coaching with baseball.

Jim was employed at Motor Technology Inc. for 38 years. He was a machinist, a certified welder and the machine shop manager. There wasn’t anything that Jim felt he couldn’t fix, whether he could or not.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy S. Medellin; a son and his wife, Bradley J. and Hannah E. Medellin; a daughter, Heather A. Medellin; his mother, Charlene Keeney (Gordy); father-in-law, Sheldon Mock; and two grandchildren, Maren and Maxten. Additionally, he is survived by his three brothers, David R. Medellin (Janice), Michael A. Medellin, and Steven R. Medellin (Karen); nieces, Maia and Katharine; a nephew, Alex Medellin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his father, Ramiro R. Medellin, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Doris A. Mock.

A public visitation will be held from 1-3PM on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Social distancing protocols will be upheld and masks are required. Jim’s services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. His final resting place will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
