James R. Wertz
June 6, 1928 — April 7, 2014
James R. Wertz, 85, of Lemoyne died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Cumberland County Nursing Home.
A WWII Navy veteran, he was a retired Corrections Officer from the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of Corrections. He was a member of Lower Allen Twp. VFW Post 7530, American Legion Post 974, Fairview Twp., and Loyal Order of Moose, Osceola Mills, PA.
He was born June 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh to the late Eli and Margaret (Airsman) Wirtz. He was the widower of Dorothy Alice Erickson Wertz.
He is survived by a son, James R., Jr. of Lemoyne; two daughters, Catherine L. Smith of Lemoyne and Debra A. Forker (Delbert) of Harrisburg; and a grandson, Clifton D. Forker.
Committal services with military honors will be held at 11am Friday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
