James R. Wilson

James R. Wilson, 94, formerly of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 25, 2024 in Middletown, PA surrounded by family and friends. James was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Ira and Martha (Jackson) Wilson. After attaining a B.S. in Business Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he served in the United States Army as an instructor in the Third Armored Division Band Training Unit in Fort Knox Kentucky.  During this time, he also played trombone in a jazz ensemble called the "Skyliners".
He married Helenanne (nee Budiscak) in 1958 and they enjoyed 66 happy years together. James enjoyed a life-long career in sales, first with American Book Company, followed by many years in the commercial furniture industry. At the age of 75, James studied to become a Pharmacy Technician. A former parishioner of Saint Theresa's Catholic Church, James was also active in the community through the American Legion and the New Cumberland Library.  His interests included music, reading, travel, devotion to his family and his country.
James is survived by his wife Helenanne Wilson; sons Kevin (Annette) Wilson, Shawn (Theresa) Wilson; and grandchildren, Zoe Elizabeth Wilson and Spencer Patrick Wilson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Wilson and sister, Mary (Wilson) Sage. 
A private memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions are respectfully requested to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania, Harrisburg
