Jean Cleveland Kirchhoff

Jean Cleveland Kirchhoff, 84, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. Born on April 11, 1942, in East Orange, New Jersey, Jean lived a life centered on family, friendship, generosity, and unconditional love.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Royal and Alvina Cleveland; her beloved husband, Bill; her son, Tommy; and her grandson, Kyle.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen and her husband, Rob, and Katie and her husband, Anson, as well as her daughter-in-law, Staci and her husband, Greg. She was a devoted grandmother to Trey (Julia), Tommy, Tommy, Annie (Nick), Sam, Mackie, Brynley, and Ty. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Naomi and Robert. Jean is also survived by her brother, Jay Cleveland.

Jean spent her childhood in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Camp Hill High School. She went on to graduate from Gettysburg College, where she later served on the Board of Trustees. She was proud of her family's legacy through Cleveland Brothers Equipment Company.

To know Jean was to know true hospitality. Jean’s home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her famous meals. She was known for her exceptional beef tenderloin, her unforgettable blueberry pie, and her famous “peach perkies,” as well as the cherished traditions she and Bill created through their annual Christmas Eve and Fourth of July celebrations. She treasured summers in Ocean City, New Jersey, and time spent at Loblolly, where countless family memories were made.

Above all, Jean's greatest joy was her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than cheering on her children and grandchildren at a sporting event, school performance, or an important milestone. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her example of kindness, grace, and unwavering love will live on through all who knew her. She was the ultimate friend, devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and — as she always loved to say — a “great”-grandmother. Her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cared for will be her lasting legacy.

The family finds comfort in imagining Jean reunited with Bill, sharing their morning cup of coffee once again.

Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 11 A.M. at Saint Theresa Roman Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they gather to celebrate Jean's extraordinary life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that in honor of her legacy you share a meal, extend kindness to a friend, or simply show up for the people you love—the way Jean always did.
