Jeffrey R. Thornton

Jeffrey R. Thornton Jr., 43, of Fairview Twp., Etters, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.

He was a truck driver for ABC Supply Co., Harrisburg and was a former barber at Semoff's Barber Shop, New Cumberland; a graduate of Red Land High School, Lewisberry; a member of Grace Baptist Church of Lewisberry; a gifted artist having received several awards during his high school years and loved to garden as well as camping and fishing with his friends, Heath, Jim, Jeff and Richard. Born on July 30, 1969 in Harrisburg, he was the son of Jeffrey R. and Carol Anne (Stockdale) Thornton of Etters.

In addition to his parents, surviving are a brother, Todd M. Thornton (Natalie) of Etters; his paternal grandfather, Emory D. “Pat” Thornton of Punta Gorda, FL; his maternal grandmother, Rose Stockdale of East York; a niece, Rose Elizabeth Thornton and a nephew, Benjamin Reese Thornton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday in Grace Baptist Church of Lewisberry with Pastor Don Isley, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover.

Visitation will be held 10 – 11 AM on Saturday at the church.
