Jerry R. Dively, 80, of Etters, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026. He was born on June 6, 1946, in Friedens, PA to the late William and Eleanor (Rankin) Dively. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he spent a fulfilling life dedicated to his family and community.
Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Navy after enlisting in 1964. He achieved the rank of Airman and was honored with a Bronze Star for his service. After his time in the Navy, he returned to civilian life and was a dedicated employee at the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot until retirement, contributing to the government sector with dedication and care.
A true family man, Jerry cherished his time spent with his wife, Patricia (Russell) Dively, and their sons, Devin and Sean (Steffanie). He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Gavin, Landon, Amber, Drew (Alisha), Dominic, Olivia, Kirsten, and his great-grandchildren, Cassie, Leia, Ayden, Jayden, and Brayla. His home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son, Jerry Dively, Jr.
Jerry had a passion for carpentry and was always eager to lend a hand around the house, symbolizing his commitment to the well-being of his family. He had a soft spot for Western movies and shows, and while he was not a diehard sports fan, he unwaveringly supported the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Private services will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Liver Foundation in Jerry's memory, honoring his fight, legacy of kindness and care for others.
