Jo Ann (Rogers) Pote, 87, formerly of Camp Hill, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 in Bethany Village, Lower Allen Twp.
She was a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church, its choir, bell choir and His Masters Players. She was a past Worthy Matron and member of Daughters of the Nile.
She enjoyed learning golf later in life with her husband. Her competitive spirit led her to play with the 9-holers. She was passionate about gardening and entertaining, but more than anything, she loved her family and attended all of her grandchildren’s sporting and special events.
JoAnn was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Ronald K. Swartzell, Sr. and George G. Pote and her two sons, Ronald K. Swartzell, Jr. and Roger K. Swartzell.
She is survived by her daughter in law Kimberly S. Swartzell of Camp Hill; step-daughters, Denise Burkhardt (Karl) of Camp Hill and Darlene Fuller (Michael) of Columbia, MD; grandchildren, Cliff and Lillian Swartzell; Ryan (Leann) and Travis Murphy, Jennifer Fuller (Sam) and Michelle Faulconer (Logan); and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Rolling Green Cemetery on Thursday, June 17, at 11am with the Rev. Stephen Gallaher officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation.
