John W. Caskey III, 57, of Hanover, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at his residence. He was born on November 11, 1967, in Gettysburg, to the late John W. Caskey, Jr. and Janice (Walsh) Wolff.
John graduated from Cache Senior HS in Oklahoma and went on to study criminal justice at Cameron University and was working towards a Bachelor’s Degree of Divinity at Christian Leaders College. He was multi-talented and did a little bit of everything…but sharing the Love of God was his purpose in life.
Although John has worn many different hats, he spent the majority of his professional career as a corrections officer at Adams County Adult Correctional Complex in Gettysburg PA. His most recent employment was with UPMC in Hanover as a Certified Central Sterile Technician and as a PSR with Hanover Cardiology and Vascular Services. He was also an ordained evangelist minister with the Good Shepherd International Fellowship.
In the past, John’s interests have included raising, showing and riding horses, golf/searching for his golf balls, target shooting and fishing. His recent passions included motorcycles—especially crashing them—serving as Chaplain for the Hanover Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and The Lions of Judah. Above all was his love for Jesus, playing bass on the worship team at Eagle Ridge Biker Church near Mt. Holly, PA, chili, and the unconditional love he had for his wife, children, grandchildren, and beloved, Coco.
Surviving John is his wife of 17 years, Lory Caskey; children, Rachael Brower and her partner, Josh, of NC, Amber Beaver and her husband, Cameron, of OK, Beth Ledet and her husband, Aaron, of PA, Paul Brower of PA, and Jesse Caskey and his fiancé, Sydney, of PA; grandchildren, Abel and Brinley Beaver, and Mason Caskey; stepmother, Minnie Bowers; sister, Terri Senter; and his emotional support dog, Coco. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Wolff; and sister, Debi Eckl.
