John E. Potteiger, 60, of Enola, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
A 1982 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, he worked as an Electrical Technician for Conrail and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. He was a veteran of the Navy, having participated in Operation Prairie Fire, and the Coast Guard. He was a member of Mechanicsburg American Legion Post 109 and an avid fan of Penn State football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Hershey Bears, and Philadelphia Flyers.
He was born August 20, 1964, in Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Potteiger, Sr.; stepmother, Nancy Potteiger; and sister, Laurie Higham.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea D. (Ross) Potteiger; sons, James Andrew Potteiger (Shanna Prascik) of Mechanicsburg and Cameron John Potteiger (Joy) of Buckeye, AZ; siblings, Deb Kinard (Sterling) of Dover, Donald Miller of Mechanicsburg, Edward Potteiger (Angie) of Camp Hill, and Jody Potteiger (Andy) of Etters; a grandson, Luke Caleb Potteiger of Buckeye, AZ; his mother, Thelma (Keller) Potteiger of Etters; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 10AM until funeral services begin at 11AM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow at 1PM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
