John F. Shuey, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Holy Spirit Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on January 25, 1934, in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mabel Shuey.
After graduating from John Harris High School, John served in the U.S. Army, before beginning a career with Bell Telephone in Harrisburg. John had a lifelong mechanical aptitude for anything related to the understanding, building or repairing of virtually anything. He retired from a career with Bell Telephone, where he spent more than three decades as a technician and made strong and lasting friendships. It was at Bell where met the love of his life, his wife Suzanne. Over his lifetime, John was involved within his community. John was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Camp Hill for more than six decades. He served his community as a church elder, PTA officer and president, coach and most importantly, as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend.
John is preceded in death by his beloved wife Suzanne, his brother Robert, his brother Richard and his sister Arlene. He is survived by his son Mark (Luann) of Mechanicsburg and grandchildren Alex, Todd and Kara, son David (Elaine) of Berwyn, PA, son Donald (Ling), daughter Amy (Jon) and grandchildren, Chloe and Ian. John also lived to see the birth of two great grandchildren (Addison and Elliotte) born over the past two years.
A visitation will take place from 11 AM - 12 PM on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Camp Hill. A funeral service will follow immediately after with Pastor Chad Butz officiating. Burial will take place at East Harrisburg Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Parthemore Funeral Home.
