Kathleen L. Whittaker, 77, passed away on February 27th, 2026, with her husband by her side. Born on February 23, 1949, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Emma (Fisher) and Clarence Randall, she was a devoted wife, mother, and sister.
Kathleen graduated high school in 1967 in Akron, Ohio. She then went on receive her certification in respiratory therapy in Phoenix, Arizona. After relocating from Arizona, Kathleen earned a degree and became a registered nurse while attending York College. She would later go on to receive her master’s degree in nursing. Kathleen became a nurse practitioner specializing in Family Medicine. She dedicated her career to caring for others at UPMC, where she made a significant impact on the lives of her patients. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to healthcare were evident in every interaction she had.
Kathleen married the love of her life, John Corcoran. They shared a beautiful journey of marriage that spanned for 25 years. They enjoyed traveling, having traveled halfway around the world, exploring new places, and creating many special memories along the way. Kathleen also loved staying active. She was a regular at Ark Fitness in Mechanicsburg and enjoyed walking and hiking.
In addition to her beloved husband, Kathleen is survived by her son, Brett Whittaker and her sisters, Judy (Gary) Harrington and Nancy Randall. Kathleen dearly loved her two cats, Ripley and Scooter, who brought her comfort and happiness. Kathleen’s life was marked by love, laughter, and a passion for helping others. She touched the hearts of many and will be profoundly missed.
