Mechanicsburg

Kenneth E. Kieffer, 86, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on May 18, 2024, in Mechanicsburg, PA. He was born October 23, 1937, in Mt. Airy, PA to the late Charles and Susie (George) Kieffer. Ken graduated from Millersville University and went on to work as an Industrial Arts instructor for 34 years. He was a master carpenter and craftsman; he showed his love through the things he made with his hands. Ken loved antique cars, especially 1955-1957 Chevrolets. He had a quirky sense of humor and was fiercely loyal — and more than anything was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In recent years, Ken taught residents at Bethany Village in their woodshop.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Joyce (Kissinger) Kieffer; two daughters, Beth (Tim) Holmes and Lori (Brian) Yeich; 4 grandchildren, Anna (David Short) Gilfert, Andrew, Noah, and Olivia Yeich; 5 sisters, Dolores Jeffers, Karen (Henry) Lindermuth, Brenda (David) Geib, June Long, and Charlene (Jimmy) Zimmerman; and one brother, Randy (Mary) Kieffer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Rife Center, Bethany Village with Reverend Brand Eaton officiating, a Celebration of Life to follow immediately at 2:00 PM.
