Kevin Patrick Murphy

March 17, 1957 — September 18, 2021

Kevin Patrick Murphy, 64, of New Cumberland, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill.

Born on St. Patrick’s Day, 1957, in Jamaica, Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Veronica C. (Lynch) Murphy. Kevin was also preceded in death by a brother, Pete Murphy.

Kevin owned and operated a small appliance business for many years in Marysville. Due to some health issues however, he eventually moved back to New Cumberland and shared a home with his brother Michael, who remembers Kevin as a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. Fishing, listening to the Steelers on the radio (particularly enjoying the announcers), old fashioned country music (especially George Strait and George Jones), Holidays, especially Christmas, and anything to do with trains and the railroad were some of the things he enjoyed. A loving brother and faithful friend, Kevin will be missed everyday by his brother Mike, who always had his back.

Although, Kevin was a private person and did not leave home or socialize too often in later years, he will be missed by the rest of his family and old friends and remembered with love.

Surviving are sisters and brothers, Veronica Murphy of Camp Hill, Michael Murphy of New Cumberland, Patty Ann Witte of Mechanicsburg, Joseph Murphy of New Cumberland), Patrick Murphy of New Cumberland, Maureen Murphy of New Cumberland, John Murphy of Pittsburgh and Brian Murphy of Carlisle; many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Kyle Sahd as Celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, (stjude.org). For more information or to send messages of condolence, please visit www.parthemore.com.
