Landis "Tuck" Sholly

October 19, 1944 — June 3, 2025

Etters, PA

Landis Jay "Tuck" Sholly, of Etters, PA, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family and his two loving canine companions, Molly and Gabby.

Born in Mechanicsburg on October 19, 1944, he was the son of the late Ervin "Dutch" Sholly, Sr. and Pearl (Taylor) McCreary.

Tuck began his career as a union carpenter. Upon meeting his father-in-law, Raymond "Sparky" Hobaugh, he took up the electrical trade and carried on as the third-generation owner of R.B. Hobaugh & Son in Lemoyne, with his wife, Cathy.

He also spent many years involved in the motorcycle community through Sholly's Cycle Shop in Camp Hill. He enjoyed golf, John Deere tractors, visiting the Amish country, traveling, going to country music concerts, and having big dinners with family and friends.

He was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lemoyne and also spent several years attending Yocumtown Church of God.

He shared 53 years with his wife, Cathy, whom he loved dearly and always sought to provide for. His greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life were his daughters and grandchildren. When asked what he loved most, his answer was always, "his family."

Surviving is his wife, Catherine (Hobaugh) Sholly; daughters, Trisha McKibbin (James) and Jennifer Marshall (Carl), both of New Cumberland; and grandchildren, Brandon Casner (Kara), Ashley Krauss (Steven), Hannah Gardner (Angie) and Ryan Marshall. He is also survived by many cousins, with Robert "Purse" Sholly, William "Billy" Sholly and Bobby Sholly proudly carrying on the family name. He leaves behind his loving in-laws, Lori/Bo Hobaugh and Cindy Johnston; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ervin Sholly, Jr., Linda Anderson and Beverly Pincin; and his father and mother-in-law, Raymond "Sparky" and Mary Jane Hobaugh.

A visitation will be held from 10AM until a memorial service begins at 11AM on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with Rev. Dr. James McKibbin officiating. Committal services will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 309 Herman Avenue, Lemoyne, PA or "Heart and Vascular Institute" at Penn State Hershey Medical Center c/o Office of University Development, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033. The family would also like to offer their sincere thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the professional and compassionate care they provided over the past three weeks.
