Larrie Dean Worley, 87, of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, held closely in the hearts of his family. Born on New Years Day, 1938, in Lewisberry, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Gladys (Shettle) Worley.
A 1956 graduate of the former New Cumberland High School, Larrie began his career at L.B. Smith before devoting more than five decades to the truck parts industry. He started with Diamond Reo Trucks and ultimately retired from Lesher Mack Sales & Service in Lebanon.
Sports played a central role in Larrie’s life. He coached his son through multiple levels of youth baseball and spent many seasons leading the New Cumberland youth football program. Though he was proud of every team he coached, the championship season with the Packers youth squad held a special place in his heart. Larrie and his wife, Joanne, remained familiar faces at Cedar Cliff High School sporting events long after their own children had graduated. Larrie had a lifelong love of competition, whether it was on the field, around a board game, or in the backyard with family. He inspired his son to take up golf and especially enjoyed time spent on the course with his grandson, Dan.
Larrie and Joann were longtime members of Baughman Church in New Cumberland and shared a love of camping. Trips to Assateague Island, MD, were among their favorites. Known for his easy conversation and genuine interest in others, Larrie never hesitated to lend a hand. He was quick to help a friend or neighbor—especially if you were a fellow Steelers fan—and gave freely of his time and energy wherever he saw a need.
Above all, Larrie deeply loved his wife of 67 years and set a lifelong example of devotion, integrity, and family. He was a steadfast husband, father, and grandfather whose presence will be dearly missed.
Surviving Larrie is his wife of 67 years, Joann (Moore) Worley; his children, Dave Worley (Phoung) of Spicewood, TX, and Doug Worley (Aferdita) of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Dan, Fllanza, Ylli, and Anthony; and a brother, Michael. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Larrie’s name to the American Cancer Society.
