Lois J. Hall

November 8, 1929 — February 12, 2023

Lois J. Hall, 93, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Bridges at Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg. She was the daughter of the late William O. and Frances (Losh) Leidig, born on November 8, 1929 in Highspire.

Lois was a 1947 graduate of Highspire High School and would go on to marry her classmate and sweetheart, Robert. The couple would move several times as they began a family, following Robert’s job with American Can Co. from Ohio, to Iowa, to Minnesota, and then finally back to Mechanicsburg, PA. From there, they would move to Middletown, where they settled as empty nesters.

Lois and family were longtime members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, New Cumberland, where she was an active member of the congregation. She would donate homemade desserts for various church functions and volunteer as greeter for Sunday services. She was a former member of the New Cumberland Olde Towne Association, and in her free time, she enjoyed going shopping. She was a sweet and kindhearted mother, wife and friend. She and her husband enjoyed entertaining and hosting friends and family throughout the years. Most of the fun happened in the basement, enjoying laughs and quality time at the bar or around the pool table. As a couple, they enjoyed their card club, comprised of fellow classmates, and they especially loved family vacations to Stone Harbor, NJ and Rehoboth Beach, DE. Her tender way will be missed by all those who knew her.

Surviving Lois are her children, Todd R. Hall (Deanne) of Newberrytown, Rex O. Hall (Patti) of Lewisberry, and Karen E. Permar (Joe) of Haw River, NC; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Hall; and sister, Donna C. Rende.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, New Cumberland. Inurnment will be private in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
