Marian Elizabeth Hempt King, 99, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on May 13, 1926, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Clarence O. and Esther S. (Sipe) Hempt. Marian touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, creativity, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
A proud graduate of Penn State University, Marian earned her Bachelor's Degree and spent her professional life as a sole proprietor in the women's apparel industry. A member of the Harrisburg Watercolor Society, she expressed her creativity through her painting, and her love for nature blossomed in her stunning flower arrangements, especially her skill in Ikebana. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Marian found immense joy in travel, cooking, and creating beautiful memories with her family.
Marian is survived by her beloved son, Rex (Lynne) King; her cherished grandsons, Ryan, Logan, and Erik King; and her precious great-granddaughters, Ariel Cook and Nara King. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, creativity, and community spirit. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Clifford E. King and son, Clifford S. King.
