Mark Lathrop

August 27, 1959 — February 16, 2024

New Cumberland, PA

Mark Lathrop, 64, of New Cumberland, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was the son of the late John and Evelyn (Vokes) Lathrop, born on August 27, 1959 in Harrisburg.

He graduated from Central Dauphin East High School in 1977 and would go on to work at Fry Communications, Mechanicsburg, for many years as a print press operator. Mark spent his last couple working years as a handyman at a few different places.

He loved the outdoors; whether it was hunting, fishing, sitting by a campfire or at the beach, he always found an excuse to be outside. Mark also had a soft spot for boating and enjoying life on the Susquehanna River and the ocean. He was creative and good with his hands, always building and fixing things. You could always count on him for a helping hand.

He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Phillies fan, but in all honesty, Mark just loved watching live sports. If he wasn’t working or spending time outside, you could count on the TV being tuned to a live sporting event. He also loved shooting pool and playing cards.

Surviving Mark are his children, Stacey Lewis (Donnie) of Camp Hill, and Jason Lathrop (Rena) of Enola; grandchildren, Payton Beers (Nemanja), Keon Waiwada, Hazel Beers, Naomi Lathrop, Kenna Lewis and Kaylee Lewis; a brother and sister, David Lathrop (Cindy) of Liverpool, and Suzanne Schechtman (Adam) of Seven Valleys; a niece and two nephews, and a large extended family.

A public visitation will be held from 1-2PM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
