Mark Adolf Stefanowicz, 74, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 9, 1951, in Shenandoah Heights, Pa, he was the beloved son of the late Adolph J. Stefanowicz and Catherine S. (Klocek) Stefanowicz.
Mark grew up with a passion for understanding how things worked, especially anything involving electronics. Mark graduated from Gateway Regional High School in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, in 1969 as part of the school’s first graduating class. Soon after graduation, he began his career as an apprentice with the United States Navy, Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, in the 67 Shop (electrical/electronics). His skills and dedication later led him to serve as an Electronics Engineering Technician. Mark eventually relocated to the Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg, where he spent the remainder of his career working for Naval Sea Logistics Center (NSLC).
Mark also dedicated his life to serving others, always putting community and compassion at the forefront. He proudly held leadership roles as President of the East Greenwich Township Ambulance Association in Gloucester County, New Jersey, and as Fire Police Captain of the Upper Allen Fire Department. His lifelong devotion to public safety didn’t just define his career—it changed his life.
This is where he met his greatest love, Eileen (Solof) Stefanowicz, a moment neither could have predicted would lead to a lifetime of love. What began as a shared commitment to helping others soon blossomed into a beautiful partnership filled with laughter, unwavering support, and 39 years of marriage.
Together, with Eileen by his side, they built a life rich in purpose, deep connection, and family. Mark’s legacy lives on in the love he gave so freely and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Mark was happiest when working with his hands or tending to his garden. He especially enjoyed growing tomatoes, peppers, and corn. He also adored his loyal Yorkie, Phoebe, who remained a constant companion.
Above all, Mark treasured his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Eileen; his sister, Kathleen (Richard) Carver of Wilmington, Delaware; and his children: Amy (Mark) Perry of Biglerville, Pa; Beth (Stephen) Chappo of Lewisberry, Pa.; Jeffrey (Shayla) Stefanowicz of New Cumberland, Pa.; and Jason (Christina) Stefanowicz of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
He was the proud grandfather of Anton Staab V, Michael Chappo, Lyla and Hazel Stefanowicz, Brittany (Jake) Van Riper, Brittany (Ryan) Bradshaw, Mark Perry Jr., and Nicolas Perry. He was also the loving great-grandfather of Ausmarah Perry and James (JD) Valentino. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Avery Stefanowicz.
Mark is also survived by his sister-in-law, Shelley Kaplan and brother-in-law, Mark Solof, both of New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews and their children, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As we remember Mark’s remarkable life and the love he shared, we are reminded to hold dear the moments spent with him. He will be forever cherished in our hearts and minds.
