Marlyn Anne (Everett) Easterly, 92, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Marlyn retired from Donnelly Directory where she worked as a copy editor. She was active with a number of organizations, including the Daughters of the American Revolution – Harrisburg Chapter, Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War – Gettysburg #55, Daughters of American Colonists – Cymry Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star – Old Bellaire Chapter 375, and the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic #20. She was kind and compassionate, and she loved animals just as much as they loved her. Marlyn made lots of memories at the family cabin in Elk County, and she thoroughly enjoyed figure skating in her younger days. After retirement, she and her husband, George, traveled frequently, including several European vacations. Their favorite destination was Germany—especially during Oktoberfest.
Born on August 30, 1933, in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Jester) Everett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Easterly, Jr., and a brother, William “Hawk” Everett.
Surviving Marlyn is her son, George C. Easterly III of Etters; daughter, Janet A. Mueller (Eric) of Etters; grandchildren, Zachary Easterly (Ilana), Brock Easterly, Marissa Dunkle (Chad), John Mueller and Madelyn Mueller; and a great-grandson, William Latchford.
A public viewing will be held from 4-6PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A committal service will take place the following morning, Thursday, December 18, at 10:30AM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
