Camp Hill

Mary Ann Dawson, 97, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on June 22, 2026, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 20, 1929.

In 1947, Mary Ann "Dolly" Ferry married Andrew “Joe” Dawson (1929-1980) in Newark, NJ. They were blessed with four children, 15 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann was a full-time parent and was also Joe’s right hand in helping him build a successful insurance business. She later went on to work as an Insurance Company Accountant.

Mary Ann embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved to dance, sparkle, and travel, visiting 32 countries, 14 islands and 48 states throughout her lifetime. She delighted in experiencing new places, learning about different cultures.

Above all else, Mary Ann’s greatest joy was her family. Her most enduring legacy is the close-knit family she nurtured and the values she instilled in generations to come. She spent countless hours with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating treasured traditions and unforgettable memories that will continue to be shared for years to come. She was also deeply loved by her many nieces and nephews.

In 1988, Mary Ann met James “Jim” Patrick (1930-2009), and together they shared 21 wonderful years filled with love, companionship and travel. She joyfully became “Mom” to three additional children, Grandma to five grandchildren, and Great-Grandma to three great-grandchildren.

In true Mary Ann fashion, she requested that there be no formal service, saying: “If you didn’t come to see me when I was alive, you don’t need to see me when I'm dead!”

Her family will honor her memory with a Celebration of Life at a later date.

And if she were here to offer one final piece of advice, it would undoubtedly be this: “In lieu of flowers, make a contribution to your 401(k).”

Anyone who knew Mary Ann can’t help but smile, knowing that she meant every word. Her wit, generosity, love of family, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
