Mary Louise Shetter, formerly of Lemoyne, died at Chapel Pointe in Carlisle on March 12, 2026. She was 88. Born in Harrisburg December 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Helen L. Simmons and Melvin A. Herrold and was the widow of Elmer E. "Butch" Shetter Jr. who passed away in 2008.
Mary was a 1955 graduate of the former West Shore High School and retired from Shaull Equipment and Supply after working many years as a private secretary and administrative professional for several engineering firms in the Harrisburg area including Gatter & Diehl and Benetech. She was a faithful member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill.
Surviving are Grant Wynn, who Mary thought of as a grandson, and his father Jeffrey E. Wynn. Also surviving are four nephews, Kent A. Seidel, Todd E. Seidel, G. Joseph Seidel, and Lee M. Seidel; three nieces, Martha A. Reinecker, Barbara K. Wagner, and Christina L. Cain; many great and great-great nephews and nieces as well as numerous other family members, dear friends and neighbors. Mary Louise was also preceded in death by a niece, Janis L. Wagner.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 20th at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill, with Pastor Chad Butz officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00. Burial will immediately follow at Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1610 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to the charity of your choice.
