Mary A. (Bennett) Yohe

February 19, 1936 — May 4, 2025

Lewisberry, PA

Mary A. (Bennett) Yohe, 89, of Lewisberry, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on Sunday, May 4, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Albert B. “Foggy” Bennett and Neva (McDermitt) Harden, born on February 19, 1936, in Camden, ME.

Mary graduated from Camden High School in 1954, where she was a standout athlete on the girls’ basketball team. As a co-captain, she led her team to 88 consecutive wins to end her high school basketball career undefeated. She was also inducted to the Maine Midcoast Sports Hall of Fame. In her freshman year, she started and organized the high school's majorette line. She was the head majorette for Camden High School all 4 years. She continued her education at Fisher Junior College in Boston, earning a degree in 1956.

In 1960, Mary fulfilled her dreams of raising a family and riding horses when she settled in Pennsylvania. Over the next 30 years, she created a joyful, nature-filled life for her children, complete with trail rides and unforgettable memories. A true lover of animals, Mary embraced country living and cared for a wide array of pets through the years—dogs, cats, ducks, monkeys, donkeys, goats, horses, sheep, fish, turtles, and bunnies. Olivia, her cherished feline companion, remained by her side these past 18 years.

Mary also worked part-time as a school bus driver for the Capital Area Intermediate Unit. She had a passion for shopping—frequenting T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and Lewisberry Antiques—and possessed a refined eye for interior decorating.

Above all, Mary’s greatest joy and purpose in life was her family. A devoted and loving mother of five, she led by example with grace, strength, and unconditional love. She was also a wonderful cook and baker, making every holiday a special celebration. Mary treasured the time spent with her five grandchildren, supporting them in all their scholastic and athletic endeavors, and spoiling them whenever possible. The love and warmth felt while in her presence will be greatly missed.

Surviving Mary are her children, Lisa Loring, Terry (Loring) Miller (husband, Randy), Mark L. Loring (wife, Patricia), Jody Yohe, and Heidi (Yohe) Below (husband, Jeremy); grandchildren, Kenneth Reyes Loring, Christian Reyes Loring, Jordan Miller, Sarah Loring, and Tabitha Loring; a brother, LeRoy E. Bennett; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Loring; second husband, Clarence Yohe; and siblings, Dr. Albert B. Bennett and Joan Bennett.

A public viewing will be held from 11AM until a funeral service begins at 12PM on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will immediately follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Cumberland.
