Orvan O. Danner Jr.

Orvan “Old man" "Skip” Danner, Jr., age 89, of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on May 12, 2026, with his family by his side. Born on April 22, 1937, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to the late Dorothy (Martin) Danner and Orvan Danner Sr., Orvan was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and devoted husband. He spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the simple joys of nature, leaving a legacy of love and connection that will endure through all who knew him.

A man of great passions, he reveled in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and spending leisurely hours shooting pool at American Legion Post 143. Skip also found joy in participating in activities at the New Cumberland Senior Center and bowling with friends at Trindle bowling alley. His love for community engagement was evident in every endeavor he pursued, reflecting his generous spirit.

A devoted family man, Skip enjoyed 66 loving years of marriage with his wife, Gloria (Parson) Danner. Together, they raised a family that includes their daughter, Angel (Jim) Huggins, and son, Orvan (Roberta) Danner, III. Skip was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and treasured his role as a great-grandfather to several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Marsha (Gary) Sipe and Judy Sipe, both of whom he held dear to his heart.

Along with his parents, Skip was preceded in death by his two sons, Robert and Dwayne Danner.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, starting at 10am in the chapel of Parthemore Funeral Home, 1303 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070. A funeral service will follow immediately after beginning at 11am. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 at 1:30pm with full military honors right before.
