New Cumberland

Patricia Margaret Ensminger (Hanlen), 75, of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center after a difficult few months battling health complications.

Born on August 4, 1950, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Pat was the daughter of Richard and Evelyn Hanlen. She graduated from Cedar Cliff High School in 1968 and married Leslie Keith Ensminger on December 7, 1974. The couple recently celebrated over 51 years of marriage together.

Raised in New Cumberland, Pat spent most of her life on Rosemont Avenue. First, in the house she grew up in, and later, after starting a family of her own, moving into the house directly across the street. When she wasn’t on Rosemont Avenue, you could likely find her visiting her favorite place - going to Lancaster to see the Amish horses and buggies.

Being there for others was always Pat’s calling, whether it be working at Harrisburg Hospital, the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in New Cumberland, or the pregnancy center for underprivileged women where she volunteered upon retirement. Pat was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority (Beta Pi Master Chapter) where she spent many hours amongst friends socially and doing volunteer work. She was a cheerleading coach for New Cumberland Youth Football and an active booster for several Cedar Cliff extracurricular teams. The loudest one in the bleachers, you always knew when Pat was on the sidelines. She didn’t just merely show up for the people she loved. Pat lived life out loud, leaving a vibrant, joyful echo in the community she served so fiercely and with the people she loved so dearly.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Leslie Ensminger, and her sister, Marti Bert. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Bradley Bert and her granddaughter Elizabeth Weaver.

As a mother and grandmother, Pat forged a family legacy through her son, Keith Ensminger, and his wife, Erin, as well as her daughter, Jamie Weaver, and her husband, Michael. Pat was also an aunt to five girls who each grew up to become amazing women - Becki Campanaro (Bert) and Danielle O’Haren (Bert), Denise Ensminger and Andrea Zahuranec (Ensminger), and Jennifer Lehman (Ensminger).

Without question, though, Pat would tell you that her proudest legacy was the love she found in recent years for her three young granddaughters: Harmony Weaver, Mackenzie Ensminger, and Sophie Ensminger. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her three little girls. Pat’s boundless love will live on in each of them. Every time they laugh, dream, or support one another, Grammy will be there in their hearts, living on through the girls who meant the world to her.
