Patricia Anne Fickes Sharretts, age 97, died June 15, 2026. Pat was born on August 15, 1928, at home in Harrisburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late James Fickes and Otillia Fickes. She was the youngest of five children with 4 older brothers who pre-deceased her: Augustus G. Fickes, William H. Fickes, Jay R. Fickes, and Thomas L. Fickes. Pat was the beloved wife of I. Paul Sharretts for almost 53 years until his death in 2001. They married on July 9, 1948. She is survived by her sons Timothy Sharretts (Cathilee) of Redondo Beach, CA and Thomas Sharretts (Mary Jo) of Enola, PA. She was a proud “MIMI” to her grandchildren. Emily Power (Andrew) of Rolling Hills Estates, CA, their children Piper, Polly, Poppy, and Hudson; Katie Desserres (Jon) of Chandler, AZ, and their children Dane & Sloane; Stephen Sharretts (Melissa) of Enola, PA, and their children Vincenza and Daniella; and Melinda Logan (Sean) of Brooklyn, NY.
Her delicious pot pie, yummy sugar cookies, and delightful cakes were always a hit with her family. Pat enjoyed playing UNO and Rummy Cube with her grandkids, and she was hard to beat. She and Paul loved camping at their “lot” at Pinchot—plus their many trips RVing all over the United States. Paul was always the driver, but he depended on Pat to get them where they were going. Those could be “testy” times. They enjoyed many winters in Florida.
Pat was employed at Bell Telephone and worked the split shift while Paul was serving in the Army. When Tim was born, she happily left the work world to raise her boys. Pat was a member of Community United Methodist Church for over 65 years where she served as president of the Woman's group and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Highland Women's Club, and the Red Hatters. Pat and Paul were very active in Shrine events. She was always counting her blessings and said over and over how lucky she was. Pat had a smile for everyone along with peppermint lifesavers in her pocket that she would pass out to anyone who would take them. Because of this her friends called her "Peppermint Patty", which she loved!
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Pat's memory to Bethany Village Care Endowment Fund, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055.
Her funeral will be private, and arrangements are under the care of Parthemore Funeral Home in New Cumberland, PA.
