Paul David Johnson, 77, of New Cumberland, Fairview Twp. quietly passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Lebanon VA Medical Center.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Paul “Dave” was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served four years consisting of 2 tours in Vietnam as a Boatswain Mate 3, serving on the USS McCormick, USS Rush, and a Communications ship. He was proud to be a Tin Can Sailor member. Throughout his life, he was a generous and giving man offering a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He was a member of York County Honor Guard, since 2015. And he truly felt an unwavering dedication to honor all fallen service men and women. He was a true patriot and loved the United States of America.
Retired from the Defense Logistics Agency in New Cumberland, PA. Dave was always on call for any issues that arose and worked as a plumber and Construction Inspector for 30 years.
He was born July 8, 1947, in Harrisburg to the late Harry Landis and Mary (Franko) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Johnson and sister, Ulie Robison.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Kathryn Johnson; daughters, Heidi Ann Conner (Noel Mazzone) of Scottsdale, AZ and Heather Ann Gressick (Thomas) of Allen, TX; his 5 grandchildren, Kenny Conner of Raleigh, NC, Alex Campbell (Mason) of Las Vegas, NV, Zachary Conner (Katsiaryn) of Raleigh, NC, Johnathan Gressick, and IsaBella Gressick of Allen, TX; and 2 great-grandchildren, Oliver Conner and Josie Campbell; sisters, Marene Compton, Julia Machamer, Margaret Adams, and Madelyn Plonski; brother, Lewis Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Inurnment Services will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 12:30 PM on Friday, June 20th. We ask, if attending, please arrive no later than 12:15 PM.
The Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 21st, from 1- 4PM. This service will be held at The Susquehanna Club at the DLA, (New Cumberland Army Depot).
