Peter A. Hamel

Peter A. Hamel, passed away on July 3, 2024 at the age of 66. He was born on February 28, 1958 in Manhattan, N.Y. Peter spent over four decades sharing his unmistakable voice with radio listeners across the United States. His tender heart of love for those hurting motivated him to reach out on the air waves daily to touch their lives with encouragement. Peter enjoyed being on the air, present in people's lives as they started their day. Mindful that it might be difficult to start their day alone, he wanted to be the voice of a friend reminding them they weren’t alone, God was with them and their friend Pete was there with them too. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Teresa “Tess” (Monte) Hamel of New Cumberland, his mother Mary Hamel. His children and their partners: Jessica and Ian, Isaiah and Zoe and grandchildren Isabelle and Scarlett. His dear brothers and their wives: Rich and Jeannie; John and Bobbie and his Nephews and Nieces who meant so much to him, with whom he was very proud.

Pete was so very grateful for the friendships of so many listeners who became true family to him on this journey of life.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
