Peter “Chris” Hudak, 81, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026. Born on May 17, 1944, in Spangler, PA to the late Peter and Adelaide Hudak. Chris lived a life rich with service and love.
Chris proudly served in the Army from September 13, 1963, to September 12, 1966, achieving the rank of Specialist 4. After his military service, he dedicated himself to nursing, working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Pennsylvania State Hospital for 18 years. Known for his compassion and care, Chris made a lasting impact on the lives of his patients and colleagues.
At home, Chris was a true homebody, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed listening to podcasts and conservative talk radio and was known for his down-to-earth personality and infectious sense of humor, which brought smiles to friends and family alike. His loyal companion, Ziggy, a yellow lab, filled his days with love and companionship.
Chris is survived by his sister, Elaine Desalvo; his very best friends, John DeFrayne and Billy Marejka and a host of friends and community members who will cherish his memory. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his brother, Thomas Hudak.
In celebration of Chris’s life, a memorial service will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 6 PM at Parthemore Funeral Home. All are encouraged to dress comfortably in casual attire, honoring Chris’s preference for a relaxed atmosphere. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization close to Chris’s heart, supporting veterans and their families.
