Philip E. Taylor, 78, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025.
Born on June 3, 1946, in York, PA, Phil was the beloved husband of Suzanne Fencil Taylor, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He is also survived by his devoted daughters, Amy Gallucci (Joe) and Stacy Bowerman (Gerry); cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Joey, Miranda (Matt), Rocco, Lillian, Kai, and Jack; and great-granddaughter, Sophia. He leaves behind his brothers, Ronald Taylor and David Taylor, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis John Henry and Alverta Isabel (Geesey) Taylor, and his sister, Joyce Linebaugh.
A graduate of Rider College in New Jersey, Phil was a proud member, President, and House Manager of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Fraternity. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve and went on to work as an accountant for Tyco International in Harrisburg until his retirement.
Phil was a man of strong faith and commitment to his church. As a longtime member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, he served faithfully as Chairman of the Administrative Board, Church Treasurer, and Easter Egg Project Coordinator. His sense of service extended to many organizations, including Eureka-West Shore Lodge No. 301, F&AM, and the Hawks Gunning Club. He was also a dedicated 10-gallon blood donor with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank, and a volunteer firefighter and ambulance attendant.
Phil found great joy in the outdoors. He loved spending time at his cabin in the mountains of Tioga County and relaxing on his boat in Ocean City, MD, and Chincoteague, VA. He will be remembered for his selflessness, generous heart, and deep love for his family, friends, and community.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 16, at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, 402 Valley Road, Etters, PA 17319 or online at www.fcsalem.org.
