Rebecca Ardis “Becca” May passed away on October 12, 2025, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, just one day before her 64th birthday. Born on Friday, October 13, 1961, in Miami, Florida, Becca brought light and laughter into the lives of those around her through her vibrant spirit and enduring optimism.
Raised in the Catholic faith, Becca was baptized in Miami Beach and received her First Communion at St. Charles Parish in South San Diego/Imperial Beach. That special day was made even more memorable by the presence of her brother Hallam (“Hal”), who served as an altar boy during the Mass. Her early spiritual foundation remained a meaningful part of her life.
Becca had a deep love for music and often expressed herself through singing and playing the guitar—talents that brought joy to many. She also had a passion for cycling and participated in numerous organized bike races throughout San Diego and into Baja Mexico. Even after facing significant health challenges later in life, including the loss of her leg, she continued to inspire others with her resilience and unwavering sense of humor.
Her ability to find light even in difficult times was one of Becca’s most cherished qualities. Those who knew her were uplifted by her positive outlook and grateful for the warmth she shared so freely.
Becca is survived by her loving daughter Chrystal and son-in-law Robert; her devoted son Paul and his wife Elizabeth; and six beloved grandchildren: Nicholas, Mary, Margaret, Nathaniel, Isaac, and Philemon. She is also remembered by her brothers Hallam and Kevin along with their wives Julie and Karen; her step mother Silvia; sisters Beatrice and Ardis; godson Samuel, and several nieces and nephews including Matthew, Laney, Ryan, Kayla, Janette, Valarie—and their children—who all held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Samuel as well as her brother Todd and stepfather Dennis.
Becca’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with kindness, laughter, music, and strength. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
