Richard P. “Dick” Beckley, Jr., 86, went to be with the Lord peacefully on September 18, 2026. He was born on November 18, 1939, in Hagerstown, MD, to the late Blanche (Brant) Beckley and Richard “Perry” Beckley, Sr.
Dick lived a full and meaningful life. Of his many accomplishments, the things that truly defined him were his family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Karen K. (Poorman) Beckley, and he treasured his grandchildren, Paige (Beckley) Buhr and Tyler Beckley.
Dick served in the United States Navy. Later, he owned and operated several businesses in Frederick and Williamsport, Maryland.
Dick loved antique, collectible cars and bluegrass music. He and Karen enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, attending bluegrass festivals, and making memories with their many friends.
Dick loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell stories, His kindness, laughter, and stories will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
In accordance with Dick’s wishes, services will be private, with interment in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dick Beckley Memorial Fund through the Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association. The fund will support bluegrass opportunities for promising school-aged musicians.
