Richard A. Daldo, CMSgt USAF, 75, of New Cumberland, Fairview Twp. died Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at Lebanon VA Medical Center.
He was a 1968 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and a 1983 graduate of Penn State University. Rick began his career in 1969 in the USAF as an Aircraft Mechanic assigned to the 354 TFW Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, SC. In October 1973, he joined the 193rd Tactical Electronic Warfare Group (at the PA ANG).
He has held the positions of Crew Chief, Maintenance Control Superintendent, and Quality Control Superintendent and Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent. He was selected as the first Command Chief for the 193rd Special Operations Wing in January 1994 and held that position until October 2000.
Chief Daldo deployed with the 193rd Maintenance Squadron in support of real-world operations and exercises ranging from Vietnam to Iraqi Freedom. He retired from the Air National Guard in June 2006.
He was also employed at Defense Contract Administrative Services as a Quality Control Inspector at BAE Systems, York.
Rick enjoyed working on his cars in his garage, tinkering on anything that needed fixing, and attending his children's and grandchildren’s extracurricular and sporting events. He always enjoyed a good party gathering with friends and family.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland, and VFW Post 7530 Lower Allen Twp. He was a past president and coach at Red Land Midget Football and the past president of Red Land High School Football Boosters.
He was born May 24, 1950, in Pottsville to the late Anthony Francis and Florence J. (Stefanosky) Daldo. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Daldo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ann Margaret (Callaghan) Daldo; daughter, Dawn Marie Steach (Chris) of Harrisburg; son, Richard (Ricky) Anthony Daldo, Jr. (Tonya) of Etters; grandchildren, Brooke, Hunter, Mackenzie, and Makayla; brother, Robert Daldo (Denise) of Jonestown; sister, Patricia Bowman (Billy) of DE; sister-in-law, Mary Daldo of Cogan Station; several nieces and nephews, and his loyal lab, Freedom.
Viewing will be from 10:30 until the funeral services at noon on Friday, October 31st, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Committal services will follow at 2pm on Friday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. All are welcome.
