Ronald H. Conard

Ronald H. Conard, 92, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026. Born January 16, 1934, to the late Harry Conard and Rose MacDonald, Ronald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and longtime member of the Greater Harrisburg and Shippensburg communities.

He was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Harrisburg. Ron dedicated much of his life to serving others and supporting education, veterans, and his community. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and served as former president of its Cumberland County chapter. He was also a past president of the Cumberland County Schoolmen's Association.

Ron’s many affiliations reflected his deep commitment to his community and the organizations he cared about. He was a member of the Nittany Lion Club, Navy League, American Legion Post 1001 of Harrisburg, Moosewa Hunting Club, Bald Eagle State Forest, Turkey Buzzards, West Shore Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, and Knights of Columbus Council 4068 in Camp Hill, and his home church Knights of Columbus Council 15137. He was also a former president and longtime member of The Keystonians.

An alum and proud supporter of Shippensburg University, Ron served as a director on the Shippensburg University General Alumni Association Board and was an active volunteer with the Shippensburg University Foundation and Admissions Office. His dedication to the university and its students was an important part of his life and legacy.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn Spaid Conard; his children, Christine Conard of Harrisburg and Michael (Tina Long) Conard of Harrisburg; and his grandson, Charles M.

Ron will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his generous service to others, and the many ways he gave his time and energy to the organizations and communities he cherished.

A Public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, 116 S. Oak Grove Road, West Hanover Township, PA 17112.
